The annual Captain vs Chairman match took place with a fresh format this year, and it seems to have been a hit! We had no trouble attracting 80 players, thanks to the new approach.

With a shotgun start and fourball better ball stableford, the day flowed smoothly, followed by a prize-giving ceremony and buffet. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.

Despite battling near-hurricane conditions, everyone stayed dry and completed the round in about four hours—albeit slightly windblown!

Prizes & Highlights

• Top four pairs in each team received prizes.
• The bottom two pairs were humorously rewarded with a vegetable selection.
• Nearest the Pin winners (four in total) each received a box of balls—one of which was claimed by the Captain!
• All prizes were presented by the lovely Joanne.

This year, Chairman Richard Gee and his team claimed victory with 674 points, beating the Captain’s team on 659 points. Richard took great delight in presenting the wooden spoon to Captain Steve Kelly.
